Medicinal uses:
Roots are diaphoretic and given during fever when the extremities are cold. It is used as remedy for pains in the legs and arms. Paste is used to aid the extraction of guinea-worm. Infusuion is given in ardent fever and in itching of the skin and it forms the basis of an external application of leprosy. Fruits are rubbed over the head with water to cure baldness.
