Medicinal uses:

Seeds are expectorant and given in cough and colic. Plant is reported to be used as antidote of snake poison. Bark is used as anthelmintic for cattle and its juice as fish poison. Oil is used to cure skin diseases and as carminative. Juice of the bark is considered poisonous.

Seeds kernels contain saponin, a tetraglucoside of a saponin, Acid hydrolysis gives Nitrogenin, it is an active haemolytic agent.
